Update

Little Jack is incredibly well behaved, despite all manner of provocation. Today, he went from the LDR to the nursery, where he got his first bath (hated it), got a Vitamin K shot (hated it), got blood drawn (hated it), and had to lay naked under a heat lamp while nurses poked and prodded him (didn't mind the naked part, hated the poking and prodding). The nursery room nurse said that all babies over 8 pounds, 12 ounces get their blood sugar level checked--several times. Jack's was fine every time. He also got a Baby LoJack--a device that straps to his leg and causes an alarm to go off it goes into certain parts of the hospital or the elevators, or is removed from his leg. The nurse said they've never lost a baby (out of more than 25,000 of them at Lucille Packard Childrens' Hospital), but I appreciate the vigilence.
